Understanding Texting Hours in Mav
Mav is designed to reach your leads at the right time - when they're most likely to engage. This article explains how texting hours work, including our Dynamic Texting Hours feature, and what you can expect around holidays and inbound responses.
What Are Dynamic Texting Hours?
You'll find the Dynamic Texting Hours toggle under Settings → Texting Hours. This setting controls when Mav sends outbound text messages to your leads.
When Dynamic Texting Hours is ON (Default)

With Dynamic Texting Hours enabled, Mav sends texts based on where your lead is located:
- Days: Monday through Saturday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM local time
- How it works: Mav determines the lead's time zone based on the area code of their phone number. This means a lead in California receives texts according to Pacific Time, while a lead in New York follows Eastern Time.
This is the default setting because it maximizes engagement by reaching leads during appropriate hours in their own time zone.
When Dynamic Texting Hours is OFF

If you turn off Dynamic Texting Hours, Mav uses a fixed schedule based on Eastern Time:
- Days: Monday through Saturday
- Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time
This option works well if your leads are primarily located in the Eastern time zone or if you prefer a consistent, predictable texting window.
What About Inbound Responses?
Here's the good news: if a lead texts Mav back, Mav will respond, no matter what time it is. Even if it's midnight, Mav is there to keep the conversation going.
However, Mav won't proactively re-engage leads outside of texting hours. So while we'll always reply to an incoming message, we won't initiate new outreach late at night or early in the morning.
Federal Holidays
Mav does not send outbound text messages on federal holidays, regardless of whether Dynamic Texting Hours is on or off. This helps ensure your outreach is respectful and compliant with best practices.
As always, if a lead reaches out to you on a holiday, Mav will still respond to their message.
Summary

- Dynamic Texting Hours OFF: Texts sent M–Sat, 11 AM – 8 PM Eastern Time
- Inbound replies: Always answered, any time of day
